The Swedish chiller Marianne was released on DVD today, but you don’t have to buy it – you can win it, if you know a couple of things about the movie.
(The competition has now ended.) Marianne is a psychological horror film about a broken family in the small isolated town of Östersund. Among the pine woods, the lakes, the snowy mountains and the midnight summer sun, the story takes place on the fuzzy border between fantasy and reality. Njuta Films released the DVD today, and you can win it, if you know the answer to these two questions:
1) Which is the classic horror film being glimpsed on a TV screen somewhere in the film? The answer is: Nosferatu (1922).
2) What is the name of the Swedish county where the film is shot? (Not the city!) The answer is: Jämtland.
If you know these two details, either with or without the help of the internet, send your answers via email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 18th, 2012. The winner will be notified on the 19th and also listed on this page, in the commentary field.
The Marianne DVD is a region 2 PAL disc, with Swedish language and English subtitles. It features two audio commentaries, an outtake reel, Marianne trailers, and Njuta Films trailers. If you are not lucky enough to win the DVD, you can also buy it at SubDVD or other online retailers.
